Is this really made in the USA?

Yes sir.  The Spongester is made right here in Upstate New York, USA.  Not just for patriotic reasons.  The bulk of the cost is the Stainless Steel, which is the same here or abroad, and the Spongester is actually kind of hard to get just right. We moved manufacturing back to the US after a few failed efforts in India and China.

Why is it so expensive?

Mostly the cost of the Steel, plus each one is hand made (with lasers and presses doing the cutting and bending).

 

Will this fill the gaping hole in my life or make my kids love me more?

Probably.

 

What's the difference between Spongester 2.0 and 1.0?

Each generation we get a bit more precise with the angles and manufacturing.   The current Spongesters have a more level top shelf, and are generally a bit more compact.  Most people won't notice the difference, but we needed to call out the update in case someone is collecting Spongesters.
